Hurry Wait Hurry is a heartwarming picture book that follows an eager little meerkat named Mika on a journey to her favorite picnic spot in Sunflower Park. Along the way, Mika’s excitement is constantly interrupted by little delays—choosing the right hat, saying goodbye to her cat, and exploring a mysterious path. When a red light causes her to miss the bus, Mika must summon all her determination to catch up. This playful and tender story captures the mix of childhood urgency and wonder, while gently reflecting on patience, priorities, and the joy of the journey.
Author and illustrator
Yinghui Li is a painter graduated from Beihang University (BUAA), currently studying at Goldsmiths, University of London. She specializes in watercolor illustrations of natural landscapes and animals, and shares slice-of-life comics on social media, where she has gained over 10k followers. Passionate about science communication and the natural world, she also works as an illustrator for a natural science bookstore.
