Cookie's Way Home
After Caroline became old enough to go to school, she slowly stopped spending time with her best "friend"—a toy dog named Cookie. When Cookie tried to get the family's attention, Mum scolded her and said she was always making a mess. Feeling sad and unwanted, Cookie escaped and got lost at night. During the search and their happy reunion, Caroline and Mom started to understand the feelings behind being ignored. In the end, the whole family found a way to feel close and connected again.
Author and illustrator
Li Xinyang is an illustrator from China, soon to graduate from the Children’s Book Illustration master’s program at Goldsmiths, University of London. She works with a variety of traditional materials, including watercolor and colored pencils, bringing a warm and tender visual style to her illustrations. Her work captures quiet moments with gentle detail, inviting young readers into heartfelt and imaginative worlds.
