The monster who stole my shoe
Oscar is a child who loves mysteries. One winter morning, he discovers that one of his new shoes is missing. “Perhaps the monster from the picture book took the shoe!” Oscar and his dog Ben take an adventure in the snow to find the monster. They see many footprints—maybe the monster has many feet? They see scratches and bite marks—maybe the monster has sharp teeth and claws? Following the tracks, they finally find Oscar’s lost shoe, and also, the "monster" thief!
Author and illustrator
Yang Xu is an illustrator from Beijing, China. Her work often uses a limited colour palette to create a subtly nostalgic atmosphere. She has five years of experience taking on freelance commissions, most of which involve creating vintage-inspired fantasy illustrations. From a young age, her favorite pastime was listening to stories, and she hopes to use her brush to tell stories of her own.
